In the biggest trial since OJ, major news networks brought in the big gun—Vinoo—to talk Chauvin & Floyd. Over the past two weeks, Vinoo has given his take on CBS, NBC, HLN, Court TV, and even a radio interview on WOR NY. He has dominated in his battles with paid HLN legal commentators, a network that provides "gavel to gavel" coverage. Then in multiple interviews with CBS News, Vinoo explained why he initially believed Chauvin needed to testify, and why now, to preserve his only chance of victory—on appeal—he shouldn't testify. Maybe Chauvin listened as he didn't testify. Vinoo wrote an op-ed last year published in the New York Law Journal titled "To Ensure Justice for George Floyd, Derek Chauvin Must Get a Fair Trial." Vinoo has provided a nuanced analysis that Chauvin deserves a fair trial but his rights to such have been hurt by the underperformance of his lawyer, overzealous prosecutors, and a judge more interested in media coverage than providing a fair trial. Vinoo has argued that these factors will likely lead to Chauvin's conviction on all counts. This trial is a test of our justice system, which depends on ensuring that a criminal defendant, the most vulnerable in society, is treated fairly. Vinoo's position has created a storm on Twitter after HLN tweeted that his performance was "on fire" and played a highlight reel of him getting into it with their paid legal analysts. In spite of this, Vinoo continues to defend the right of the most hated man in America—perhaps the world—to get a fair trial. 🔥 The panel is fired up. Attorney @VargheseAssocPC says "you gotta look at the situation, nine minutes and thirty seconds is not that long a period of time when you consider the entire circumstances of what was going on..." #ChauvinTrialOnHLN pic.twitter.com/VTkc2O6RZr
