Vinoo Quoted in the Wall Street Journal in Article “Chauvin Faces Tough Odds for Lenient Sentencing, Legal Experts Say”

In light of Derek Chauvin's guilty verdict on all three counts, The Wall Street Journal quoted Vinoo among other legal experts on the hefty sentencing that Chauvin will likely receive, as well as some of the complications that may have attributed to a weaker defense for Chauvin.

“This should not have gone on now while there’s still a lockdown in effect, while Covid is going on,” said Vinoo Varghese, a New York defense attorney and former prosecutor

Vinoo's comment reflects upon the complexities that come with a trial during these unusual times where masks cover the lower half of all the participants' faces making it difficult to read expressions, especially those who testify.
